Price Update Pipeline

This guide explains how to manage price updates, including importing costs, calculating margins, and verifying against competitor data.

Overview

The price update pipeline allows you to:

  1. Import cost updates from external sources.
  2. Automate margin calculations and price rounding.
  3. Review changes in a safe environment.
  4. Compare prices against competitor data.

Importing Cost Updates

Start by importing the latest cost data.

1. Navigate to the **Import** page for products (via the **Import** button in the toolbar).
2. Paste your import data (JSON or CSV) into the editor.
3. Verify the column mappings in the preview.
4. Click **Save** to apply the updates.

Automating Calculations

Use AI-assisted automations to calculate margins and round prices.

1. Calculate Margins

1. Select the target products in the grid.
2. Click the **Mass update** button.
3. Select the **AI-assisted smart update** tab.
4. Enter the prompt: "Calculate margin based on cost and price".
5. Click **Save as automation** to store this logic.

2. Round Prices

1. Select the target products.
2. Click **Mass update** and switch to **AI-assisted smart update**.
3. Enter the prompt: "Round prices to nearest .99".
4. Click **Save as automation**.

Reviewing in a Changeset

Before applying price changes to the live site, review them in a changeset.

1. Click the **Main Data (Live)** button in the top toolbar.
2. Select **Changesets (Safe Testing)**.
3. Click **Add changeset** and select your new changeset.
4. Perform your price updates within this isolated environment.

Competitor Comparison

Use advanced filters to identify products where your price differs significantly from competitors.

1. Click the **Advanced Filter** button.
2. Click **Condition** to add a new rule.
3. Select the **Competitor Price** field.
4. Set the operator to **is not empty** (or use a comparison operator like **less than**).
5. Click **Apply** to view the results.
